Jean Hénaff, a French cannery, and the renowned chef Thierry Marx have previously collaborated to create unique meals for the International Space Station (ISS). Trivium produced the cans that made this endeavour possible. Now, they have come together once again to offer a gourmet dessert, the Apple & Fondant Galette, to passengers travelling on board the INOUI TGV trains this winter.

A gourmet delight in Space and on Earth
Tested and approved by astronauts on the ISS, Hénaff’s recipe combines culinary finesse with cutting-edge packaging technology. The aluminium can, developed and produced by Trivium, makes it possible to enjoy it anywhere, from the zero-gravity confines of space to the smooth rails of the TGV.

In addition to protecting its contents from light and oxygen, the metal packaging provides a convenient and easy way to enjoy the dessert, especially compared to other, flexible packaging options. With its debut on the TGV trains, passengers can now also experience this unique culinary adventure.

A nod to its origins
The design of the can is just as special, featuring a drawing of an astronaut in space and a clear reference to its origin: "Delicious dessert to take anywhere". Printed directly on the can, the design eliminates the need for additional labels, a premium feature with the added benefit of easier recycling.

Not only convenient
Metal packaging is a sustainable choice. Canned products require no refrigeration, which means no energy is wasted on cooling during transport and storage. Once used, cans are infinitely recyclable, preserving as much as 95% of the energy required to produce new material.

Endless possibilities
Innovations in packaging technology are expanding the possibilities for culinary experiences. We can now enjoy gourmet food in places we never thought possible before. It's exciting to see where this journey will take us next and what other places we can reach with the help of metal packaging.
