When news came from the distinguished panel of judges that Trivium Packaging’s “Hansa” shaped seafood can for Orkla Foods Norge’s Stabburet mackerel filet had become a coveted WorldStar winner, it capped an outstanding year for this unique can and the team behind it.

“Having been pronounced ‘Can of the Year”, crowned with a Cannex Gold award, an AluFoil Trophy and a Starpack ‘highly commended Engineering innovation’, this really is the icing on the cake,” said a jubilant Woep Möller, Trivium’s CEO Food & Speciality Europe.

He added: “Our ambitious packaging innovation for this leading Norwegian brand, which projects sixty separate designs on the “Hansa” shaped seafood can representing different places or people’s way of life, captured the imagination of people in Norway as well as the attention of the packaging world. This ultralight, infinitely recyclable aluminium can offers the perfect branding surface for this striking design.”

The WorldStar Packaging Awards Competition is the pre-eminent international award in packaging. Trivium Packaging was formed in 2019 following the merger of Ardagh Group’s global Food and Speciality business and Exal Corporation.
